George Teare

I am registered with BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) as a fully qualified Transactional Analysis counsellor and have undergone a rigorous psychotherapy training in London to ensure high standards of ethical working with insight and efficacy.

I work with adults and couples in my private practice based in London. I have worked at a variety of counselling placements across the city such as MCPS (The Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service), Help Counselling and Headstrong Counselling. I am currently the in-house counsellor at an institution and residence for men who were recently homeless, have been seafarers, veterans of war, or have been economically disadvantaged.

I feel passionately about witnessing what goes on for people and their psychology. Unveiling what goes on inside by taking off the various social masks we wear can provide a different experience of relating for individuals compared to a social context. I have provided support to men, women, those identifying as non-binary, those from the LGBTQIA+ community and heterosexual orientation.

My qualification and specialism is in Transactional Analysis and I also work integratively and incorporate a broader repertoire of psychology I am passionate about such as Jungian analysis, Attachment Theory and psychoanalysis. I also offer a holisitic approach where I am interested in your approach to diet and exercise which significantly affects both our physical and mental health.

General principles can apply to us all and the human experience, yet our experience of the world and how we perceive ourselves within it can be vastly different. Like a fingerprint, who we are and how we relate both internally to ourself and to others is totally unique. There is no one-size fits all approach for treating an individual’s psychology and understanding a variety of research and approaches allows me to combine methods specific to your needs, who you are as an individual, and what you are seeking.
